Today marked a major milestone for JMI Security Workforce Development as we officially welcomed the first cohort into our free security guard training program.
This is more than orientation day - this is the beginning of a movement.
The First of Many
Every program has a starting point, and today, this group became the foundation. These individuals are not just participants--they are the first class, setting the tone, the standard, and the legacy for every cohort that will follow.
Being part of the first cohort comes with responsibility. It means leading by example, embracing the process, and understanding that your success will open doors for others.

Removing Barriers, Creating Access
At JMI Security Workforce Development, we understand that many individuals are ready to work--but lack the resources to get started.
That's why this program was created.
We provide the resources for the training, removing common barriers that often prevent people from entering the security field. From instruction to guidance, our goal is to ensure that participants are not just given an opportunity--but are fully supported in taking advantage of it.
Because access should not be the reason someone cannot move forward.
Setting Expectations for Success
During orientation, participants were introduced to the standards that will guide them throughout the program:
Professionalism - Show up ready and prepared
Accountability - Take ownership of your progress
Discipline - Stay committed, even when challenged
Communication - Be responsive and reliable
One message was made clear: this opportunity is free - but it requires commitment.
More Than Just Training
This program goes beyond the classroom.
Participants will not only receive the knowledge needed to obtain their security guard certification, but will also take part in fitness session designed to build:
Physical readiness
Mental toughness
Discipline under pressure
Confidence in high-stress situations
In the security field, being prepared is not just about what you know--it's about how you perform.
Final Message
To our first cohort: Jayla, Destiny, Breanna & Mark
You are part of something bigger than yourselves. Stay committed, trust the process, and finish strong.
To those watching:
Opportunities are here--but you must be ready to step into them.
